Midlands-based supported employment charity Landau was appointed to deliver £1million of grant funding to third-sector services supporting people with autism living in the Birmingham and Solihull areas and to create a self-service directory co-produced with autistic people and their families.
With a wide range of diverse services spread geographically across the area the service directory would serve as a single point of access.
Be Bold was called in to help build the audience for its newly created support service directory and help drive further uptake of the grants.
A strategic communications campaign embracing a range of platforms and channels was developed to directly target and engage the project’s key audience.
A dedicated digital media campaign targeted project funders, commissioners, support service partners and beneficiaries. Written case studies were developed with grant beneficiaries to build the project profile and a media relations campaign targeted specific print, broadcast and digital media.
The results were outstanding, delivering a 600% increase in visitors to the All Age Autism website and a 1480% increase in visitors via Landau’s social media channels.
A total of 19 pieces of media coverage were secured during the four-month project duration which together reached a combined online and offline estimated audience of 3.3 million people.
More than 2,800 people in Birmingham and Solihull living with autism directly benefited from the project and Landau awarded more than £800,000 in grants to third sector organisations.
